Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Editorial Policy
Submission of a manuscript will be held to imply that it contains original unpublished work and is not being submitted or considered for publication elsewhere.

Submission Guideline
Submission can be made through the Open Journal System, using online submission and review. Manual submission via email is also accepted. All submissions must be made using the journal template that can be downloaded here or can be requested from our Managing Editor at admin.sbsj@unisel.edu.my.

Author Guidelines
All submission of manuscripts should adhere to the following guidelinesAuthor Guidelines:

  1. The manuscript should contain 5,000 to 10,000 words including tables, figures and references.
  2. Name of author, co-authors (if any), affiliation, contact numbers, email address and title of the article shall appear on the cover page. The full manuscript consists of the title of the article, body text, tables, figures and references only.
  3. Manuscripts should be divided into headed sections (Introduction, Review of Literature, Research Methodology, Results and Discussion and Conclusions) but should not be numbered.
  4. Manuscripts shall be written in English (United Kingdom) language only, Microsoft Word, Times New Roman font size 12, double spacing, A4 size paper and have a 1” margin all round.
  5. Manuscript shall contain an abstract between 200 to 250 words each. Must not exceed 300 words.
  6. The key words should be informative and adds to the existing information available in the title and abstract. Provide 3-5 key words.
  7. Manuscript together with its references shall be between 5 to 15 pages.
  8. Manuscript shall conform to the American Psychological Association (APA) 7th Edition style of writing and formatting. This also includes the Reference section.
  9. Article title should not be more than 18 words.
  10. Main section headings in the manuscript must be capitalized and bold and sub-headings under the main headings should be bold and in upper-lower case.
  11. Figures: Ensure that each Figure has a caption under the figure. A caption should comprise a brief title. Figures should be label as Figure 1, Figure 2, etc. Example: Figure 1: Conceptual framework of the study.
  12. Tables: One table on single page only (no separate table in two pages is allowed). Number the tables consecutively (Table 1, Table 2, etc), with a brief descriptive title (in italic fonts). For example: Table 1: Results of the regression analysis.
  13. Tables, figures and illustrations should be integrated within the text of the article.
  14. All acknowledgments (if any) should be included at the very end of the paper before the references and may include supporting grants, presentations and so forth.
